Who is God Thoth?
Thoth monkey:
========
“Thoth” represents two different forms, either in the form of the bird “ibis” (ibis), or in the form of a monkey (baboon); Both of them were associated with the moon. He was usually depicted in the human form with the head of an ibis, which is the most depicted form of him, or he was depicted in the form of a sitting monkey (baboon). And the bird (Ibis) – which became a symbol of the idol “Thoth” – appeared on prayers from pre-dynastic times.
The monkey was of great importance during the Old Kingdom, and this is evidenced by the reference to it in a number of paragraphs of the “Texts of the Pyramids”. He was also associated with the sun god “Ra”, as he was one of the two gods who accompanied “Ra” on his journey across the sky.

Baboons represented the deity “Hjuti / Thoth” or Tut, the god of wisdom among the ancient Egyptians, and one of the gods of the cosmic Thamon of Ashmounin in Egypt, in two different forms, either in the form of the bird “Ibis” (Ibis), or in the form of a monkey (baboon), both of which were associated with the moon, and usually What was depicted in the human form with the head of an ibis, which is the most depicted form in ancient Egyptian art, or depicted in the form of a seated monkey (baboon), and the bird (ibis), which became a symbol of the idol “Gahuti” appeared on the prayers from the pre-dynastic eras.
The baboon or the idol “Juhuti” was of great importance during the era of the Old Kingdom, and this is evidenced by the reference to it in a number of paragraphs of the “Texts of the Pyramids”. It was also associated with the sun god “Ra”, as he was one of the two gods who accompanied “Ra” on his journey through Heaven, and it is mentioned that the Lord of Heaven, Ra, was crossing the waterway or the heavenly river on the wing of Thoth.
The town of “Al-Ashmounin”, the home of Al-Thamun, was known as a major center for his worship, then he became a general god in all parts of Egypt. And he was known as (Ibn Ra), and some legends mentioned that he had healed or treated the eye of “Horus”, which was associated with the moon. He was also represented a lot as a messenger and mediator between the gods, as in the legend of the struggle between “Horus” and “Set”.
The Egyptians attributed to the monkey “Ghuti” the invention of writing, and therefore he became (the writer of the Ennead who records the “sacred words”), and he was responsible for all numbers and calculations, because he was (the master of time and time) and (the estimator of years), so he was recording and calculating the years last, and granting longer years to kings.

Also, the early evidence of mentioning the feast of the monkey or the idol “Juhuti” in the offering formulas in the tombs of individuals during the era of the Old and Middle Kingdoms confirms the importance and status that this idol enjoyed among the general public.

Perhaps the monkey, Gehuti, had an early place of worship in the Delta, specifically in the fifteenth region, as the “Ibiguillade” was a symbol of this region.
Gehuti had chapels of worship in the Delta, the Kharga oasis, and Sarabit al-Khadim in Sinai, and a little to the west of al-Ashmounin, specifically in Tuna al-Jabal, there is a cemetery containing thousands of mummies of the ibis and the mummified monkey, which was presented as a votive offering for this. idol.
